2011.03.21 16:10Applications for victims of tsunami and earthquake damage who want to temporarily move into municipal housing
We are accepting applications for temporary residence in municipal housing for people whose current homes were completely destroyed or washed away due to the major earthquake and tsunami on March 11th and have no place to live.
Where we will be accepting applications
- Hachinohe Portal Museum [hacchi] 5th Floor

Hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm - Architecture & Public Housing Section (Kenchiku Jutaku Ka)
at the Hachinohe City Office Bekkan(the newer building) 9th Floor
Hours: 8:15 am to 5:15 pm
Necessary Documents
(attention)We are issuing these certificates at the Residential Taxes Section(Jutaku Zei Ka) and at the general consultation window on the 5th floor of [hacchi].
Residency period
You can reside for a maximum of two years.
Rent
You are exempt from all rent costs.
(attention)You are also exempt from security deposits (shikikin) and guarantors (Hoshonin). However, utilities and common service charges are not exempt and must be paid by residents.
Residency Determination
(Changed on March 21st, 4:10pm; The method of choosing residency in municipal housing for disaster victims has changed from lottery to the decision of Hachinohe City.)
After listening to the requests of the disaster victims entering municipal housing, we will try to allocate housing in a way that fits the wishes of each family while considering circumstances such as the size and composition (children, elderly, disabled, etc.) of the household and access to the community the family lived in before the earthquake.
