How to dispose of waste caused by the tsunami

There will be no charge for the disposal of waste caused by the tsunami on March 11th2011.

How to dispose

We will collect waste caused by the tsunami from each household in tsunami damage areas.

  • While cleaning up please look out for secondary tsunamis.
  • If there is an open area, etc. where you can place waste, please separate the waste as much as possible and place it in such an area.
  • If you cannot find an area to place your garbage, then separate the waste as much as possible and place it in front of your house, etc. Please be sure that the waste does block traffic.
  • If you want to bring the waste yourself, please contact the Hachinohe Sanitation Office.
Hachinohe Sanitation Office Tel: (0178) 27-4511
  • We will collect this waste as soon as roads are restored and heavy equipment is secured. As soon as our operations framework is arranged, we will send out information. Please continue checking news and information channels.

The damage is extensive, and we expect there to be a large amount of waste. It will probably take time to collect all the waste.
